FORTRESS is a castle siege game where players use resources (gold, wood, metal, stone) to acquire and use battalions, war machines, and other support cards to attack their opponent's fortress. Each fortress is comprised of 30 areas from outer areas like the towers, gatehouse, and portcullis to inner regions like the bowers, solers, and throne room to lower areas like the undercroft and dungeon. When you reduce your opponent's fortress to nothing, you win the siege!
Your fortress is shuffled with the KEEP on bottom, and the top card turned face up – with a potential effect on the game. You lose one area of your fortress, discarding from the top, based on the damage you take each turn by your opponent's battalions, war machines, and support cards.
The card layout and design elements are all original, except for the primary graphic which is currently found art used as a placeholder in this prototype.
